7/27/2009 Heroes and Baby KnittingA little late, I know, but the weather has dictated movies and having exhausted the latest movies we wanted to see, we turn ourselves the TV series selections. We are now officially addicted to "Heroes" and have spent many rainy days catching up with the rented season's discs. This means lots of knitting, lots of baby knitting! 7/23/2009 LIVE!!!!![]() WHEW!!! It took some finagling at the old site (and that was just my lack of techno weeny know-how, that I wish I knew so much more about!), and alas, we have a new, easier to use, web site. Now to other things: While waiting on news for 2nd book deal, I am knitting little cute things for both the book and a certain baby on the way (not mine). So a night ago, I woke at 3:30, couldn't get back to sleep, so I blurry-eyed made it downstairs and did a little baby knitting. At the same time, I tried to read. Not an easy feat, but it was stocking stitch and reading always helps me sleep. Last week, while at the cottage, on what appeared to be, yet another dreary cold day, I popped into town. The week before, I had bought Laurie R King's "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" at the Parry Sound Book Shop, loved it and thought I'd go back for the 2nd book in the series. Knowing this would begin a costly habit (an addictive mystery series that carries on the good name of Sherlock Holmes, with, of course, his new apprentice), I decided to first check out The Bearly Used Book shop. Not only did I find the 2nd installment from Laurie R. King, but 6 other books - all for $45!!!! A long around to get to the book that so many people told me I HAVE to read-simply because I am a knitter. I found it at Bearly Used Books, "The Friday Night Knitting Club" AND it's follow-up, "Knit Two". So there I am, knitting and reading this book at 3:30 AM! At first, I was reluctant to buy it, much less, read it. Just because I knit... sort of thing. But now, the characters are coming alive for me and I can just imagine owning a wool shop in a busy city (Marylin - are you ready to sell Romni?). I just love Georgia! So I neither got a lot of knitting or reading done that early morning, but I sure enjoyed both and fell back to sleep at 5:30. 7/22/2009 New Site, new postHere we are, at home on the new site. Easy new digs and hopefully quick and easy downloading for you! Some pages are still unfinished, so bare with me. Hopefully there will be something new each time you visit! |
