About

One can't be defined by a single pastime or what we do for a living; this only skims the surface of who we are. I'm a mom first, to two (beautiful inside & out) daughters, a wife, daughter, sister, friend and dog-mommy. I've worked as an HR Manager for over 14 years to make a living, but always strived to fulfill the "Do What You Are" goal, which meant remaining faithful to my creative nature. I've designed knitwear and have worked for the Paton's Design Studio.  I've been published in magazines Self, Vogue Knitting, Family Circle Knitting, Better Homes and Garden's Knit It, Interweave Knits and Knitter's Digest and with yarn companies, Patons, Bernat, Classic Elite Yarns, Lion Brand, Mary Maxim and others. I worked as a consultant and designer on books, "Maran Illustrated Knitting & Crochet" by Maran Graphics and Cengage Learning's "Kids! Picture Yourself Knitting" and "Kids! Picture Yourself Crocheting." I've contributed to books by Patons Yarns and Nancy Thomas' "A Passion for knitting."

In Winter Jan. 08, a division of Random House published my first solo book "12 Months of Knitting." A career high for me (to say the least). The short stories at the beginning of each chapter/month, inspired me to seriously explore my writing, which I have loved to do since childhood. I attended Brian Henry's Writing groups for four years, and have obtained an English Language & Literature degree with Queen's University. I read books like chewing gum, one stick after another. I wrote blogs here and at Rooms Bloom, but have little time for blogging now (although I swan in from time-to-time for an update).

Currently, I'm looking for a home for my second novel, "Off the Grid," which is currently undergoing professional editing. Click on the Writing link to read my sample pieces and the Knitting link to see my portfolio or to find Freebie knitting patterns. The rest of my knitting patterns can be found on Ravelry.

So perhaps you're here to knit or maybe it's to read. Better yet, do both! I hope you enjoy my designs and stories.
